Dr. NESTOR SHIVUTE
Dr Nestor Shivute is a medical doctor with extensive work experience in public health. He has over 40 years of work experience. He is currently practising clinical medicine at a not-for profit Private Medical Practice in Omuthiya Town, Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. Previously Dr Shivute worked for WHO in different capacities and countries including as a WHO Immunization Programme Manager for 20 Eastern and Southern African countries, based in Harare; WHO Representative (Ambassador) of the WHO Director-General and WHO Regional Director for Africa, based in the Gambia; and as WHO Health Adviser for the Africa Region.
Before joining WHO, Dr Shivute worked in different capacities for the Namibian public health sector in different capacities including as a National Undersecretary of Health Care Services; National Director of Primary Health Care and Nursing Services; Regional Director of Health: North-West Region; Medical Superintendent, Oshakati Hospital; Medical Officer in charge of the Internal Medicine Department, Oshakati hospital; and medical doctor, at Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital and Oshakati State hospital respectively.
