DREAMS PROJECT
The DREAMS project is funded by PEPFAR through USAID in Namibia, and is implemented by a consortium of partners, including IntraHealth Namibia and Project HOPE Namibia. Together, we are working to avert new HIV infections among adolescents, girls and young women by addressing the structural factors in health, education and society that make them more susceptible to HIV infection. These include gender inequality, early sexual debut, teenage pregnancy, physical and sexual violence, and limited access to comprehensive sexual education.
The DREAMS team leads in HIV prevention and sexual health services for the project, including linkages to other prevention, care, and treatment services, as well as gender-based violence prevention and care services at public health facilities. The project currently focuses on three districts in the Oshikoto Region (Omuthiya, Onandjokwe, and Tsumeb).
